TUTRACK is a specialized biological pest control system designed to monitor and control Tuta absoluta (tomato leafminer) in tomato crops and other solanaceous plants.
It uses a highly effective, specialized pheromone lure combined with a delta trap to attract and trap male moths, reducing mating and egg-laying.
Key Features and Benefits:
- High Pheromone Concentration: Each TUTRACK lure contains 0.8 mg of pheromone, which can lead to up to three times more catches compared to standard 0.5 mg lures.
- Active Ingredients: The pheromone is a mixture of E3, Z8-tetradecadienyl acetate and E3, Z8, Z11-tetradecatrienyl acetate.
- Target Pest: Tuta absoluta (Tomato Leafminer).
- Effective Monitoring & Mass Trapping: Suitable for tracking infestation levels and for large-scale trapping to reduce pesticide use.
- Environmentally Friendly: Provides a non-chemical alternative to controlling pests, giving tomatoes a market advantage.
- Long-Lasting: Lures should be replaced every 6 weeks
Guidelines:
Trap Setup: Place Delta-traps with Tutrack lures within the field. Since Tuta absoluta moths fly low, traps should be placed no more than 40 cm above ground level.
Monitoring Action Threshold: For monitoring, use two delta-traps per field. If catches exceed 3 moths per trap per week, mass-trapping should be initiated.
Mass-Trapping Density:
- Low to Medium Infestation (3–30 moths/trap/week): Use 10 traps per acre.
- High Infestation (>30 moths/trap/week): Use 20 traps per acre.
Maintenance: Count the number of moths per trap daily. Remove or mark counted moths to ensure accurate daily records.
Lure Replacement: Replace the pheromone lures every 6 weeks.
Storage: Store the lures in their tightly closed original packaging, away from children. The shelf life is 3 months at room temperature or 12 months in a refrigerator.
