Paecilomyces Lilacinusa is a highly effective, naturally occurring, and eco-friendly bio-nematicide used to control plant-parasitic nematodes, particularly root-knot and cyst nematodes.
It acts as a beneficial fungus that infects the eggs, juveniles, and adult females of nematodes in the soil, effectively reducing their population without causing damage to the environment
Active Ingredient: Paecilomyces lilacinus spores and mycelial fragments.
Concentration: Typically available at \(1 \times 10^8\) to \(1 \times 10^{10} \text{ CFU/ml}\) (liquid) or CFU/g (powder).
Mechanism: The fungus grows hyphae that surround and penetrate the nematode eggshell, using enzymes like chitinase and protease to digest the egg and destroy the larva inside.

Application & Dosage:
- Soil Application: 10 kg of powder, or 1-2 liters of liquid formulation, per hectare, mixed with organic manure (FYM).
- Drip Irrigation: 10 kg powder (or 1-2 Liters liquid) mixed with 1000 Liters of water and applied through the drip system.
- Nursery/Drenching: 5–10 g or ml per liter of water for seedling dips or drenching soil.
- Best Time to Apply: Early in the crop season or at planting for maximum protection
Storage and Handling
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Shelf life is usually around 9 to 18 months under proper conditions.
- It is recommended to use safety gear (mask/gloves) as it may cause irritation, particularly for those with allergies
