Last Call MNB consists of macadamia nut borer (Thaumatotibia batrachopa) pheromone and permethrin insecticide in a grease type formulation. This product is intended for use in agricultural crops as a control measure for the macadamia nut borer.
Male-X MNB is a combination of an insecticide with a synthetic insect pheromone in a patented UV-resistant carrier that attracts and neutralizes the male Macadamia Nut Borer (M.N.B) or Thaumatotibia batrachopa.
Each droplet is equivalent to a female attractant coupled with a contact insecticide. This product distinguishes itself by its unique mode of action compared to conventional traps, which consists of overcoming the female population with a large number of droplets and competing with them in the field to effectively reduce the moths population.
Active Ingredients: Permethrin insecticide and macadamia nut borer moth pheromone: (Z)-8-dodecenyl acetate.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
The product is applied by hand using a dispenser that is pre-calibrated to deliver 50 microliter drops.
Apply 3000 drops per hectare, resulting in a dosage rate of 150 grams Last Call™ M.N.B. per hectare.
The disposable dispenser consists of the trigger device and the cartridge containing the ready-touse Last Call™ M.N.B. formulation. Prepare the dispenser using the following steps:
- Connect the trigger mechanism and the product containing cylinder. Push the two parts together to break the seal. The two parts are now permanently coupled.
- With the thumb, push the plunger until a drop of grease appears at the tip of the nozzle. The applicator is now ready to use.
- One drop of 50 microliters will be dispensed for each squeeze of the trigger.
- Place droplets ONLY on the inner framework of the tree.
- Apply droplets in the top 1/3rd of the tree to ensure maximum biological activity.
- Distribute droplets evenly throughout the inner tree canopy.
APPLICATION RATES
- For optimal results, the product must be applied before the first signs of macadamia nut borer infestation.
- Last Call™ M.N.B. only targets adult macadamia nut borer males, reducing the number of mating events and thus the number of eggs in the next generation. Consequently, a lag phase can be expected from the time of application to a reduction in the pest pressure.
- For macadamia nut borer control at the end of the macadamia growing season, Last Call™ M.N.B. must be applied 10 to 4 weeks before the harvest date of the orchard.
- Re-apply Last Call™ M.N.B. within 28 days after the last application with a maximum of five applications per season.
- Do not apply Last Call™ M.N.B. to flowers or fruit and avoid contamination of fruit.
- The drops should have a spherical shape for optimal biological activity.
