Lambdastar 5% EC

Lambdastar 5% EC is a broad-spectrum, synthetic pyrethroid insecticide containing Lambda-cyhalothrin. It provides fast-acting knockdown control and repellant effects. 

It is widely used in Kenya to protect tomatoes, roses, and French beans by targeting pests like aphids, thrips, and whiteflies.

Active Ingredient: 50 g/L Lambda-cyhalothrin

Target Pests: Aphids, whiteflies, thrips, caterpillars, and jassids

Mode of Action: Works by contact and stomach activity, disrupting the nervous system of the insect, which quickly causes paralysis and death. 

Mixing Rates:

For a standard Knapsack sprayer: Mix 10ml of Lambdastar 5% EC per 20 liters of water.

For large-scale spraying: Use 35ml per 100 liters of water (or roughly 350ml per Hectare in 500-1000 liters of water)

Usage:

• Application Timing: Spray early in the morning (before sunrise) or late in the evening (after sunset) to avoid chemical evaporation, prevent wind drift, and protect pollinators like bees.
• Safety: Always wear proper protective equipment (masks, gloves, and boots) during mixing and application.
• Mixing: Pre-mix the 10ml of insecticide with a small amount of water in a bucket first to ensure it mixes completely before pouring it into your main sprayer
