Gestavet Prost -20mL

Gestavet Prost is an injectable veterinary pharmaceutical used for the management of reproduction in cattle and sows.

Active Ingredient: Contains 75 µg of d-cloprostenol (as sodium salt) per 1 mL.

Administration & Dosage:

• Cattle & Heifers: 2 mL per animal (intramuscularly).
• Sows: 1 mL per animal (intramuscularly).
• Withdrawal Periods: Meat withdrawal is 1 day for both cattle and pigs; zero withholding for cow milk.

Benefits:

• Highly Potent: D-Cloprostenol is 3 to 4 times more potent than regular cloprostenol, requiring a smaller dose (typically 2 mL) to achieve effective results.
• Estrous Synchronization: It allows for precise control of when a cow or heifer comes into heat, which is essential for timed artificial insemination.
• Clinical Treatment: It serves as a co-adjuvant treatment to clear up uterine infections like chronic endometritis and pyometra, and treats persistent corpus luteum (CL) and luteal cysts.
• Farrowing (Labor) Induction: Allows producers to schedule farrowing. A 1 mL dose given 1 to 3 days before the probable due date safely induces labor, which concentrates the farrowing window and improves herd management.
• Batch Management: Helps synchronize batches of sows so they give birth in close proximity, making it easier to manage litters and nursery space. 

Precautions:

• Store between 2ºC and 8ºC, protected from light.
• The product should not be handled by pregnant women or people with asthma/bronchial conditions, as it can cause bronchospasm or induce abortion.
