Emalaxyl 68 WP is a broad-spectrum, dual-action systemic and contact fungicide primarily used to control devastating oomycete and fungal diseases like late blight in potatoes and tomatoes, and downy mildew on various crops and roses.
Active ingredients: Metalaxyl 40gm/kg and Mancozeb 640gm/kg
Mode of Action
- Systemic protection: The metalaxyl component is rapidly absorbed through the roots and foliage, moving upward within the plant's vascular system to protect new growth from the inside out.
- Curative & Preventive: It stops fungal mycelial growth and spore formation, allowing it to cure plants that are in the early stages of disease while preventing new outbreaks
Benefits:
- Curative and Preventive: Can stop an active infection in its early stages while providing long-lasting preventive protection for new growth.
- Rainfast: Quickly absorbed, making it resistant to being washed off by sudden rains shortly after application.
- Versatile Use: Can be applied to a wide range of crops including potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes, and citrus.
Application Guidelines
- Foliar Spray: Use a 0.25% solution (or 200–250 g per 100 liters of water). For a standard 20L knapsack, dissolve 40–50 grams of Emalaxyl. Ensure complete, even coverage on both sides of the leaves.
- Seedling Dip / Soil Drench: Can be applied during early growth stages to prevent damping-off (use a slightly stronger 0.25% to 0.3% solution).
- Target Crops: Widely used on potatoes and tomatoes (for early & late blight) and roses (for downy mildew).
- Application Interval: Apply preventively or as soon as weather conditions favor fungal growth (e.g., wet, cold seasons). Repeat every 7 to 14 days depending on disease pressure.
- Rainfastness: Metalaxyl is rapidly absorbed into the plant's system; however, it is best to avoid spraying right before heavy rainfall.
Target Diseases and Crops
- Target Diseases: Highly effective against early and late blight, downy mildew, damping-off, and white rust.
- Recommended Crops: Widely used on potatoes, tomatoes, grapes, onions, and various ornamentals.
