Diseptoprim® Bolus is particularly effective against diseases caused by E.Coli and Salmonella species of bacteria.
Diseptoprim® Bolus may also be used for systemic infections, especially calf diphtheria, salmonellosis, and bacterial pneumonia.
It is used primarily for the oral treatment of bacterial scours in calves but may also be used for sheep, goats and foals. Diseptoprim® Bolus may also be used as pessaries for prevention and treatment of post - parturient infections, including metritis and vaginitis, in mares, cows, ewes, and SOWS.
Each bolus contains:
Trimethoprim 200mg
Sulfadiazine1.0g
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For oral use: Give Diseptoprim® Bolus by hand or balling gun or crush and disperse in water and administer as a drench.
CALVES, SHEEP, GOATS AND FOALS: One bolus per 40kg body weight (divided and given twice a day). Repeat treatment after the symptoms have resolved.
In Salmonellosis and bacterial pneumonia in small livestock,continue the treatment for five consecutive days.
FOR INTRA-UTERINE USE:
Insert Diseptoprim® Bolus by hand or disperse in warm water and administer through a catheter.
- COWS AND MARES: 2-4 BOLUSES
- EWES AND SOWS: 1-2 BOLUSES.
Repeat treatment if necessary.
PRECAUTIONS:
• Do not use Diseptoprim® Bolus for oral treatment of systemic infections in Ruminants with a functional rumen.
• Treated animals should not be slaughtered for human consumption for at least 10days after the last treatment.
• Milk from treated animals should not be used for 48 hours after the last treatment.
