Common Uses & Indications
- Treats respiratory tract infections like pneumonia and bronchopneumonia.
- Controls foot-rot, arthritis, and joint-ill.
- Manages reproductive tract infections including metritis, mastitis, and pyometra.
- Combats severe gastrointestinal bacterial infections.
Dosage and Administration:
- Standard dosage is typically 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight (equivalent to 20 mg/kg body weight).
- Administered via deep intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.
- Provides sustained long-acting (LA) antibacterial coverage for up to 48 to 72 hours.
Safety and Withdrawal Periods
- Meat withdrawal: Usually 21 to 28 days depending on the specific animal species and local product registration guidelines.
- Milk withdrawal: Typically 7 days before milk can be used for human consumption.
- Do not use in horses, dogs, or cats, and avoid concurrent use with penicillin-class antibiotics.
