Alamycin 10% (containing 100 mg/ml of oxytetracycline) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in livestock like cattle, sheep, and pigs. It is highly effective against respiratory diseases, mastitis, metritis, and foot rot, but requires specific dosage and careful handling
It is indicated for infections due to susceptible organisms in cattle, sheep and pigs.

Indications:
It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections caused by oxytetracycline-sensitive organisms, including:
- Respiratory infections and pneumonia
- Mastitis and Metritis
- Atrophic rhinitis
- Erysipelas
- Navel and joint ill
Dosage:
Given by intramuscular or slow intravenous injection.
Cattle: 4 mg/kg (2mL/50kg bodyweight) daily for 3-5 days.
Sheep, Pigs: 4-9 mg/kg (2-4.5 mL/50kg bodyweight) daily for 3-5 days.
Injection volumes greater than 20mL should be divided and injected into different sites.
Withholding periods:
MEAT: Cattle: 8 days. Pigs: 9 days. Sheep: 9 days.
MILK: Cattle: 96 hours (8 milkings). Ewes: 96 hours (8 milkings).
ESI: Cattle: 11 days. Pigs: 15 days. Sheep: 9 days.
