Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP) is an inorganic compound primarily used as a dietary supplement and feed additive. It is an excellent, bioavailable source of calcium and phosphorus, critical for bone development, milk production, and livestock fertility.
Contains: calcium 60g, phosphorous 45g, aluminium 5g, flourine 0.25g
Dosage:
When mixing with animal feed, it should be distributed thoroughly to avoid nutritional imbalances:
- Poultry: Mix roughly 200g of DCP to 70kg of feed (or 1 tablespoon per 7kg).
- Cattle & Other Animals: Mix 100g of DCP per 70kg of feed (or 1 tablespoon per 14kg).
Benefits:
- Bone and Teeth Health: Provides structural support for maintaining bone density and preventing conditions like osteoporosis.
- Cellular Energy and Metabolism: Phosphorus is a critical component of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which the body uses to store and transfer energy.
- Industrial and Food Utility: Acts as an anti-caking agent, leavening agent, and dietary supplement in food products.
- Pharmaceutical Use: Used as a tablet binder and filler, allowing for smoother production and reliable drug delivery.
Applications:
- Livestock & Dairy: Promotes skeletal development in calves, improves reproductive performance, and supports high milk yields in dairy cattle.
- Poultry Farming: Ensures strong bone growth and provides the essential calcium required to produce durable eggshells
