Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is a mineral compound used to relieve muscle soreness, reduce stress, and treat constipation. Topically, they act as anti-inflammatories to soothe muscle aches, ease joint pain, and draw out infections in hooves or paws

Indication:
• Treatment of Constipation in animals, caused by sudden change of feed and eating dry feed with a lot of fibre in it.
• Hypomagnesaemia (Grass tetany) in ruminants.

Administration:
Administered as a Saline purgative (given with water as a drench):
Sheep, Goats 15 – 30 gm, Cattle 250 – 500 gm, Horses 50 – 100 gm, Dogs 5 – 25 gm, Cats 2 – 5 gm
As a soaking solution:
• Pour at least 2 cups of Epsom Salt under warm, running bath water.
• Soak for 20 minutes to relieve sore, tired muscles.
Precautions:
- Do Not Let Them Drink It: Always prevent your pet from drinking the Epsom salt water. Ingestion has a strong laxative effect and will cause severe stomach upset, diarrhea, and dehydration.
- Veterinary Guidance: If you are administering Epsom salts as an oral laxative or for livestock conditions like grass tetany, you must consult your veterinarian first to avoid electrolyte imbalances.
- Rinse Afterward: Always thoroughly rinse your pet's coat and paws with clean water after a soak to prevent the salt from drying out or irritating their skin.
- Avoid Open Wounds: Do not use Epsom salt soaks on large, deep, or severely broken skin, as it can sting and cause further irritation.
