Champion 50 WP is a broad-spectrum, contact-action wettable powder fungicide and bactericide containing 50% metallic copper (copper hydroxide)
It is primarily used to prevent and control fungal and bacterial diseases such as early/late blight, leaf rust, and anthracnose across various crops.
The best solution in management of Coffee leaf rust and coffee Berry Diseases (CBD) in coffee.
Active Ingredient: Cupric hydroxide 77% (equivalent to 50%metallic copper)
Mode of Action: Multi-site contact action. It releases copper ions onto the plant surface, which disrupt the enzyme systems of fungal spores and bacteria to prevent germination and infection.
Protection Type: Non-systemic, protective. It only acts on treated plant surfaces and must be applied before diseases establish themselves
Usage:
Application Method: Mix the powder with water and apply thoroughly as a foliar spray. It is important to ensure comprehensive coverage of all plant surfaces, as it relies on contact protection.
Rates: Application rates vary based on the specific crop and disease pressure, typically ranging from 40g to 140g per 20 liters of water (or roughly 1.5 lbs per 100 gallons for larger operations).
Timing: Best used preventatively; apply before spores can germinate and initiate infection.
Benefits:
Broad-Spectrum Protection: Acts as a powerful contact shield, stopping the germination of fungal spores on plant surfaces.
Excellent Adhesion and Coverage: Because of its microscopic particle size, it covers plant leaves uniformly and sticks well to surfaces.
High Rainfastness: Once dry, it resists washing off during heavy rains, ensuring long-lasting protection.
Low Copper Load: Delivers highly effective disease control using less metallic copper than older copper products, minimizing environmental impact.
