A novel broad-spectrum systemic and contact chitin synthesis inhibitor/insect growth regulator insecticide for control of all homopterous insect pests and other pests on major crops without any adverse effects on their predators and parasitoids. Buprofezin is an insect growth regulator and insecticide, mainly used to control homopteran insect pests. It is a thiadizine that inhibits chitin formation, thereby causing abnormal endocuticular deposition and abortive moulting.
Target: Whiteflies, Leaf hoppers, Plant hoppers, Scale insects, Lady beetles, Mealybugs
Rate: 300 ml/Ha
BENEFITS:
- It inhibits the chitin formation of insects, hindering the formation of the exoskeleton in the nymphs, and resulting in the death of the underdeveloped insects.
- It controls all the nymphal stages of insects and reduces the egg-laying capacity of female insects
- Highly selective to most beneficial families of insects, including parasitoid wasps
- Specific control of Homopteran pests—ideally suited for use in IPM programmes
