Broadstrike 800 WG is a potent selective broadleaf herbicide containing 800 g/kg of the active ingredient Flumetsulam.
It is formulated as a water-dispersible granule. It is widely used for both post-emergence and pre-emergence control of various broadleaf weeds in crops like cereals, pastures, and pulses.
Active ingredient: flumetsulam 800 g/kg
Benefits:
Exceptional Crop Safety: Broadstrike is highly selective, meaning it controls weeds without harming valuable crops like maize, soybeans, groundnuts, dry beans, lucerne, and clover.
Broad Spectrum Weed Control: It delivers reliable control of hard-to-kill annual broadleaf weeds, including mustards, shepherd's purse, and marshmallow.
Early Application Flexibility: It can be applied early in the crop's lifecycle (e.g., the 2–3 trifoliate leaf stage) without causing damage, maximizing your early crop production.
Salvage Spraying: It can be used late in the season in winter cereals and pastures to stop seed set and reduce the weed seed bank for the following year.
Application Rate:
- Standard Rate: Generally ranges between 25 to 50 grams per hectare, depending on the target weed species and crop type (e.g., winter cereals vs. clover or lucerne pastures).
- Water Volume: Apply by ground boom using 50 to 100 liters of water per hectare to ensure uniform coverage. (For aerial applications, a minimum of 20–30 L/ha is typically required).
Considerations:
- Application Conditions: For the best knockdown, it should be applied when weeds are young and actively growing (usually around the 2 to 4-leaf stage), ideally in temperatures above 5ºC with bright, sunny conditions.
- Adjuvants: It generally performs best when used with an approved spraying oil or a 100% concentrate non-ionic wetting agent.
- Tank Mixing: While it is effective on its own for many weed types, it is frequently tank-mixed with partner herbicides for harder-to-control weeds like wild radish or capeweed.
