Azoss-caps are a capsule that contains a free-living aerobic nitrogen-fixing bacterium
known as Azospirillium. It symbiotically associates with the rhizosphere of non-
leguminous crops fix a considerable amount of atmospheric nitrogen and make it
available to the plants. It is a microaerophilic and surface-colonizing bacteria and can
survive in low oxygen conditions.
It is an associated type of microorganism that is capable of colonizing the root surface of
plants. As it is a free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria, it takes Nitrogen directly from the
atmosphere and makes it available to the plants in the consumable form.
BENEFITS
• Enhanced Nitrogen Availability.
• Improved soil Structure.
• Promoted Plant growth.
• Increased Stress Tolerance.
• Enhanced Nutrient Uptake.
• Disease Suppression.
RECOMMENDED
• Short-duration crops (3-4
months).
• All crops except leguminous
and sweet crops.
• For soil Preparation
• Seed Treatment
How to Use Encapsulated Biofertilizers
Standard Method
1. Activation:
o Dissolve 1-3 capsules of the same type in 1 liter of clean water.
o Let the solution sit for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
o Solution Preservation: The activated one-litre solution can be stored for a
maximum of 10-12 hours.
o Solution Usage: Once activated, the solution should be used within the 10-12 hour
period.
2. Application:
o Drip/sprinkler Irrigation: Mix the activated solution with the required amount
of water in a drum and insert a venturi. Irrigate the field with this solution.
o Drenching: Mix the activated solution with water and pour it directly onto the
soil near the plant roots.
o Broadcasting: Mix the activated solution with 50-100 kg of soil, vermicompost,
or sand per acre (or 125-150 kg per hectare) and broadcast the mixture.
o The amount of water required for irrigation completely depends on type of crop,
soil and climatic conditions.
Instant Method (Using an Activator)
1. Activation:
o Place up to 10 capsules of the same type in an activator with a small amount of
water.
o Pull the activator's string 10-12 times to dissolve the capsules.
o Solution Preservation: The activated one litre solution can be stored for a
maximum of 10-12 hours.
o Solution Usage: Once activated, the solution should be used within the 10-12 hour
period.
o The amount of water required for irrigation completely depends on the type of crop,
soil and climatic conditions.
2. Application:
o Follow the same application methods as in the Standard Method (drip irrigation,
drenching, or broadcasting).
PRECAUTIONS: -
Water Quality: Use clean, chemical-free water for activation.
Storage: Store capsules in a cool, dry place.
Timing: Apply biofertilizers at appropriate crop growth stages. Use Bio-fertilizer before
or after 6-7 days of use of chemical fertilizer or pesticides.
Avoid Mixing with Chemicals: Do not mix biofertilizers with chemical fertilizers or
pesticides
